Our clients
When frailty, advancing age and vulnerability begin to become a part of everyday life, it can be a very difficult time for families.Often, someone who has been independent, strong and healthy discovers that living alone is increasingly challenging. They nevertheless wish to remain in the home they love, surrounded by the things they hold dear, like a favourite chair, family photographs, and often a much-loved pet.
Such familiar surroundings are particularly important when dementia is involved. Much research has been produced which proves that those with dementia cope far better for longer if their home life is free of sudden changes in routine.
In such situations, it is not always possible for relatives to provide loved ones with the care and attention they need. And what they seek is a carer who will live-in.
Choosing live-in care is all about providing the peace of mind which comes from one-to-one support, preserving a greater degree of independence, and enabling our clients to remain in their own home for as long as they wish.
We provide care for clients with varying degrees of dementia, from short-term memory loss to advanced Alzheimer’s. Some may have Parkinson’s disease. Others are recovering from a stroke. Some need respite care.
Our clients also include young people with physical or learning disabilities who need 24-hour support.
At Corinium Care, we seek to introduce a carer who will give support and gentle companionship; who will respect a client’s dignity, privacy and choice; assist with all personal care tasks; encourage and help their client to do as much for themselves as possible; and who will undertake light housework, cooking and shopping duties if that’s what the client wishes.
Our clients are given the opportunity to make informed decisions about the choice of their care providers, and client preferences are always taken into account.
